Practicing Independence in New Hampshire Craft Fairs
New Hampshire has always been known as being independent. It had already broken off from the clutches of Great Britain six months before even joining the first thirteen states that became the first states to found the United States. The residents of New Hampshire remain independent up to now. Time and time, we have said, “Live free, or die trying!”
The world has more or less settled down from those troubling times, but we still believe in our own independent capability to live. For this reason, many from New Hampshire try to strike out as entrepreneurs. I myself have come to enjoy being my own boss, and I have found plenty of opportunities in the Craft Shows in New Hampshire.
There are more than 200 fairs that are scheduled to happen in this year alone. Rest assured that you’ll get to attend around three fairs, more if you’re lucky, that occur on a weekly basis. In each, you’ll have the chance to get a booth for yourself. Show various items you’ve made, or bought wholesale from another source. You’ll definitely see the beginnings of business in this place.
In some cases, it is not a simple matter of going to the fair and selling your crafts. When you chance upon a judged fair, you will have to first prove that you are capable of holding your own. Your products will be scrutinized, and a portfolio of previous events that you have attended will be checked. It’s not easy to get a booth in these events, but if you get in, the quality control ensures more people will attend the event.
These are times wherein a new job is difficult to come by. And even when financial challenges are over, being an entrepreneur at craft shows are a good way to supplement your finances. Start to attend craft fairs and festivals, and you, too, can become your own boss.
Rick Amorey frequently attends one of the various New Hampshire Craft Shows occurring annually. Like him, you can go to New Hampshire Craft Fairs and appreciate the various works by these talented people.
