Praying Helps When You Feel Hopeless
There appears to be a link between prayer and healing. Medical studies have even concluded that patients who have other people to pray for them tend to fare better than those without such prayer support. Whether it’s a single prayer or a flood of prayers, it has been said that prayer can move mountains-and that is particularly true when the mountain is debilitating illness.
Because of the connection between prayer and healing, it is no surprise that a number of doctors recommend prayer and meditation as stress relievers. Prayer forces an individual to take time out, to spend some quiet time alone with one’s thoughts. Prayer also requires that a person look outward toward a Superior Being for strength and support. Prayer can enable an individual to re-gain focus and concentration so that he or she can better work through problems and therefore experience less stress.
Prayer has tremendous positive effects on those who eagerly practice them as a way of life. The sensed of belonging and being cared by a Higher Person is so strong that it motivates a person through all the thorns and roses of live. It helps to see problem in another less daunting light and therefore reducing one’s anticipation.
It may have been a short, spoken prayer said aloud – ‘God help me!’ to a long, recited of the Lord’s prayer to one’s Maker. They all bring tremendous amount of relief in times of trying and tribulations. Regardless the length of one’s prayer the sense of peacefulness and relief revolves around prayer is always priceless. Any prayer opens the gates of communication with the Almighty which in turns leads to whole lots of feel good feelings.
Meditation is yet another form of prayer. One may meditate on other things aside for one’s debilitating problems, Scriptures and verses, journey from the life of God or form other source. Meditation provides an equal stress relief from all the numbing problems. This form of prayer leads to serenity within oneself – slowing one’s heart rate, lowering one’s blood pressure and leads to sense of happiness.
Noticeable, quiet a number of 12-step program recovery have made prayer as their very foundation. When drugs and alcohol could be of no good use, prayer facilitates one to get by. Praying to the Higher Power provides a sense of belonging and one has the reassurance that one will be led during one’s darkest and stormiest journey of life. Prayer puts huge problem into a clearer perspective.
Surveys show that the vast majority of Americans believe in God, so prayer is not a foreign concept to them. However, many Americans haven’t prayed in years. They may be afraid of condemnation from God or from other people. They may simply not know the words they should use. They may even feel so unworthy that they cannot summon up the courage to pray.
Nevertheless, prayer is an easy habit to pick up. When faced with prayer roadblock, one can easily drop by at any book shop which offer various prayer-how books. One may even get help from various religious groups or even a pastor’s guide if praying seemed a little daunting. Prayer group or personal Bible study group is yet another brilliant option to consider.
The stresses of work and home can seem overwhelming at times. As a result, a number of people find that they must take time out to pray in order to better handle the many challenges they face. Prayer is like anything else-the more you do it, the more comfortable you become doing it. Even if you don’t have a specific faith tradition, prayer can be a powerful weapon in your arsenal against stress. If you start and end your day with prayer, you may be amazed at how your stress level seems to plummet.

Do you think people are getting tattoos without having any idea what they mean. Or why they wanted it. My nephew explained to me that he got a full sleeve tattoo because he thought it would be cool. He is old enough to have a tatoo and had the money to pay for it. So everything was legit except for his reason. I have tats but they all have meaning and I had to earn the priveldge of wearing them. What’s you take on people getting tats for no reason.
